Changelog v2.7

This update makes it easier to add files, arrange blocks, and navigate your working context, with a redesigned sidebar and more responsive previews.

New

• Add multiple file links: Select multiple files through Text/Markdown File(s) or Any File(s). Each file becomes a separate block in Pending Placement, ready to arrange on your Board.
• Resizable sidebar: Drag the divider to adjust the right panel’s width. Bentowise remembers your preference across Boards and restarts. Double-click the divider to restore automatic sizing.
• Collapsible outline sections: Collapse or expand sections in the outline to focus on the content you need.
• Pinned Board shortcuts: Switch between pinned Boards directly from the shortcut row above the current Board title.

Improved

• Pending Placement moves to the sidebar: Pending blocks now appear above the outline, with the newest items first. Selecting or placing a pending block keeps the outline open for continued arranging; click the placed block to edit it.
• Cleaner outline navigation: A compact, single-column layout makes titles easier to scan. Click an item to locate its block. Individual outline items no longer drag onto the canvas; section dragging remains available in Section Reorder.
• Background web previews: Web link blocks appear immediately while their titles, descriptions, and images load in the background, so you can keep working.
• Better linked-image display: Local image links now display the original image as the block’s cover, with notes and cover alignment options available.
• More predictable link clicks: On the canvas, the first click selects a block; clicking a web link in an already selected block opens it in your default browser. Web links in the right-side previews and note editor open directly.
• More room to arrange blocks: The editing canvas keeps extra space below the last block, making it easier to place content on a full Board.
• Refreshed Welcome Board: Updated onboarding introduces ways to bring files, folders, links, Markdown, images, and AI-generated outputs into one working context.

• Fixed newly added pending blocks sometimes failing to appear immediately.
• Fixed linked images continuing to show an older version after the original file was replaced.
• Fixed outline action buttons remaining visible after the pointer moved away.
• Prevented accidental link opening during dragging, text selection, and multiple-block selection.

• Pending Placement: Collect new blocks, notes, images, links, and attachments in a tray before arranging them on your Board. Edit or remove items before placing them. Each Board saves its own pending items.
• Drop content anywhere: Drag files, folders, text, links, or images onto the Board to add them to Pending Placement.
• Move blocks back to Pending: Use the scissors button or Cut menu item to return a block to the tray for rearranging.
• Pinned Boards: Pin frequently used Boards, reorder them, and switch between the first nine with Alt+1–9.
• Quick Memo and Duplicate: Create a memo or duplicate directly below the selected block. New memos match the original block’s width.
• Create memos on empty canvas: Right-click an empty area and choose a color to create a one-row memo, up to six columns wide.

• Empty and lightly populated Boards provide more space for dragging and placing content.
• Pending cards now share the Board’s visual style, with clearer selection, delete controls, and compact file, folder, website, and Board link details.
• Settings now open in a dedicated side panel for appearance, theme color, and Board width.
• Updated Windows application and installer icons.

Fixed

• Fixed an issue where a failed Board load could leave the app stuck. The app now clears the loading state and opens the Board/Vault list so you can continue.
• Fixed Board action buttons remaining visible after the pointer moved away.
• Fixed webpage titles missing from card previews.
• Improved undo/redo, recovery after failed saves, and handling of imports or saves that finish after switching Boards.
