A First Look at Bentowise 2.0 — Coming in Early August
Bentowise 2.0 is on the way.
We are currently preparing one of the most significant updates to Bentowise so far, with the first release planned for the first week of August 2026.
The central goal of version 2.0 is to establish the foundation for a new generation of AI-assisted workflows. Rather than simply adding a few isolated AI features, we are preparing Bentowise to work naturally alongside the AI tools people already use.
Preparing Boards for AI-Assisted Changes
AI can generate, reorganize, and rewrite large amounts of content very quickly. This can be extremely useful, but it also creates a practical problem: a large automated change may not always produce the result you expected.
To make these workflows safer, Bentowise 2.0 will introduce improved board history and snapshot management.
Before applying a major change—whether it is generated by AI or made manually—you will be able to preserve the current state of a board. When necessary, you can return to an earlier saved point instead of trying to reconstruct the previous content and layout by hand.
This will make it easier to experiment with AI-generated boards, reorganize complex research materials, and test alternative structures without worrying about losing earlier work.
Templates as Practical Guardrails
Another important addition in Bentowise 2.0 will be the new template system.
Without enough context, AI can easily produce content that looks impressive but lacks a useful structure. It may create too many cards, arrange information inconsistently, or ignore the practical conventions of a particular professional workflow.
Built-in templates will provide clearer guidance.
Instead of allowing AI to freely invent every board from scratch, templates can provide a proven starting structure based on established workflows and industry practices. An investment research board, project planning board, course preparation board, and client research board should each follow a different logic.
Templates will help external AI tools generate content within that logic.
We will begin with a collection of built-in templates and gradually expand the system to support custom templates. In the future, users will be able to define structures that reflect their own methods, preferences, and professional processes.
Bring Your Own AI
Bentowise 2.0 will not lock users into a single built-in AI provider.
We believe users should be able to choose the AI that works best for them. That might be ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, another desktop AI client, or a future tool that does not exist yet.
Instead of embedding one model and requiring users to adopt a particular AI subscription, we are designing Bentowise as part of a broader toolchain.
Your chosen AI can help research, summarize, classify, compare, and generate structured content. Bentowise can then serve as the visual workspace where those results are arranged, reviewed, edited, connected, presented, and preserved.
This approach allows Bentowise to remain flexible, local-first, and independent of any individual AI platform.
The Beginning of a Broader AI Platform
Bentowise 2.0 will provide the basic platform for connecting visual boards with AI-assisted workflows.
Board history will make large-scale changes safer. Templates will provide structure and practical constraints. Future integrations will make it easier to move information between your preferred AI tools and Bentowise without requiring complicated technical steps.
Version 2.0 will not be the final destination. It will be the beginning of a more open and extensible Bentowise—one that can become a practical part of your own AI workflow while allowing you to remain in control of your tools, files, and information.
